Malcolm is an experienced organisational leader and professional engineer with 20 years of experience in the mining and metals industry.
His professional experience spans across several commodities, mining life-cycle phases, and regions of the world (North and South America, Europe, Asia and Africa). His expertise and experience include environmental management, mine waste management (including tailings), mine closure and reclamation, and sustainability (in particular, Circular Economy applications within the mining and metals industry).
He is an active participant in the mining and metals industry as a guest speaker, and expert working group participant / strategic partner with organisations such as: the World Economic Forum (WEF), the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), the Mining Association of Canada (MAC), and the Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance (IRMA).
He currently serves as the Global Head of Mine Closure Planning and Circular Economy for the mining segment of ArcelorMittal.
