With nearly half the global economy linked to mined resources, the mining sector plays a critical role in society and the energy transition in particular. The IEA forecasts that demand for transition minerals could triple by 2050, and meeting this demand will require over 300 new mines for battery production alone, with lead times averaging 18 years. This reiterates the need for forward-thinking investment strategies to improve stewardship across the sector.
